Where can I get further help with Responsible Gaming?
There are many organizations that can provide help and support to individuals who develop a problem with gambling. If you feel that you may have a problem controlling your gaming, we strongly recommend that you contact one of the following professional organizations for help and guidance.
• The Council on Compulsive Gambling of Pennsylvania or call 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537) - provides a 24-hour confidential hotline and information on how to gamble responsibly and offers advice and counseling to anyone who is affected by problem gambling. • The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs - The PA Department of Drug and Alcohol’s Gambling Addiction Participating Providers List or call 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537) for the contact information of a treatment professional near you.
• The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) - provides a 24-hour confidential national helpline. You can call 1-800-522-4700 for resources.
• Gam-Anon of Pennsylvania - Gamblers Anonymous is a 12-step support program for individuals whose lives have been devastated by the compulsive gambling of a loved one. Please visit: https://gam-anon.org/gam-anon-can-help for additional information.
• The Board’s Office of Compulsive and Problem Gambling – You can reach out via email at problemgambling@pa.gov or call 717-346-8300.
• The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline) or call 988 - The Lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States. The Lifeline is comprised of a national network of over 200 local crisis centers, combining custom local care and resources with national standards and best practices.
• International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) - which is a global organization exclusively devoted to funding research to help increase understanding of pathological and underage gambling. They are committed to finding effective methods of treatment for these disorders. Their website is https://www.icrg.org/
• Gamblers Anonymous - which is a fellowship of men and women who have joined together to help others recover from gambling problems by sharing their own individual experiences. There are multiple Gamblers Anonymous meetings in Pennsylvania every week. If you or someone you know wants to find information regarding scheduled meetings, you can do so through Gamblers Anonymous or The Board’s Office of Compulsive and Problem Gambling.
